SPC & Hybrid
Waterproof and hard wearing. The best all rounder for Queensland homes.
What it is
Hybrid flooring has a hard core made from limestone powder and PVC. On top is a printed design layer and a clear wear layer. People also call it SPC or rigid core. The stone core barely reacts to heat or damp, so it holds its shape.
Best rooms
Anywhere in the house. Kitchens, living areas, bedrooms and hallways. It can go in a bathroom or laundry too, though for a full bathroom we will usually say tile is the better call. It is our most popular choice for a whole home in one look.
Worth knowing
It still moves a little in heat, so it needs proper gaps at the edges. Skipping those is the main cause of a floor lifting later.

- Backing usually attached, so no separate underlay
- A damaged plank can be lifted and swapped
