What is the difference between SPC and vinyl flooring?

SPC has a hard core inside it. This makes it strong against dents and heat. Vinyl is softer and bends more. It often costs less than SPC. We will help you pick the right one for your room and your budget.

Can you lay new flooring over my old tiles?

Often, yes. The tiles need to be flat and solid first. We check this when we come out to measure. If the tiles need extra work before we start, we will tell you before you agree to anything.

How long does it take to lay flooring in one room?

Most single rooms take one day. A full house can take a few days. It depends on the size of the job and how much old flooring we need to pull up first.

Can I put SPC or vinyl in a bathroom or laundry?

Accepted Answer

Yes. SPC and vinyl are both waterproof, so they can go in a bathroom or laundry. We will usually say tile is the better call for a full bathroom. But if you want the same floor running through the whole house, we can do that. We lay planks in most homes. They click together and match the floor in the rest of the house. Sheet vinyl is there too, if you want the fewest joins. Timber and standard laminate can swell if they get wet, so they are not an option in a wet room.

Can you match new flooring to what I already have?

We will try our best to find a close match. Some older ranges are hard to match exactly, because the maker may not sell that style anymore. We will always show you samples before you say yes.

Will the floor be noisy for the people below me?

Accepted Answer

If you live in a unit or townhouse, we can fit sound-stopping underlay under your floor. Many body corporates ask for this. It cuts the noise for the people below you.

What is laminate flooring, and how is it different from SPC or vinyl?

Laminate has a timber-look layer on top of a hard board core. It looks a lot like real timber and costs less. It is not fully waterproof like SPC and vinyl, so it is not the best choice for bathrooms or laundries. It is a strong choice for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways.

How long does a full job take, from my first call to a finished floor?

First we come out for a free measure and give you a price. Then we order your floor. Stock takes some time to arrive, and this varies by product. Then we book your install day. The whole job is often a few weeks. Most of that is waiting for stock, not us working in your home.

Can I stay in my house while you lay the floor?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in most cases. We just ask you to keep the work area clear so we can move safely and get the job done well. If you have young kids or pets, it is a good idea to keep them out of the work area until the floor is ready to walk on.
